Beacon Oversaw the Removal of Arsenic-Impacted Soils

RSU 2 selected a former apple orchard for the location of a new K-8 school in Monmouth.  During environmental investigations it was discovered that arsenic-impacted topsoil was present in exceedance of MEDEP guidelines.  Beacon was contracted by McGee Construction (the earthwork contractor) to provide environmental oversight during the removal of the impacted topsoil and the placement of this material under a marker layer in accordance with the MEDEP Voluntary Response Action Program (VRAP) plan for the property.

Phase I/II ESA

Beacon was given the opportunity to assist a local businessman with his environmental due diligence prior to purchasing a former automotive facility.  We completed the Phase I ESA within twelve days of authorization.  Based on the past usage and observations, a Limited Phase II ESA was proposed.  This was completed within five days of authorization and the report completed less than a week later.

Colonial Theater Remediation

Beacon is assisting the Augusta Colonial Theater with oversight of the removal of coal ash and asbestos from the basement of a former theater on Water Street in Augusta.  Our President has been involved with the property since 2008 having done a Phase I and Phase II on the property previously.  We are excited to see this project move forward.  Call us if you need assistance getting your environmental issues resolved.
