Beacon was contracted to oversee the removal of two 6,000-gallon underground storage tanks at a convenience store and gasoline station with a history of impacted soil and groundwater.
In December 2016, Beacon was on-site to perform field testing and soil sampling for analytical requirements as required by the Maine DEP. A member of Maine DEP’s Response Services Unit was on-site to assist in determination of response procedures and it was determined that impacts were not discovered related to these USTs or the associated piping. No soil removal was conducted and the client is able to move forward with reuse of the property.
